Hello !

i'm not very experienced in using maxwell studio so its just a very basic question. I'm using Rhino to model and assign the materials.
I'm always exporting my models via the maxwell plugin for rhino to maxwell studio. I don't like the plugin for Rhino very much that is why i always export to studio to adjust the scene settings.
My problem is that there are somtimes changes in my Rhino model after i set up the environment and adjusted the scene in maxwell studio.
If i have to change the Rhino model i always have to start from zero in maxwell studio. Is there a way to just update the referenced model in Studio not to loose all the settings (environment materials etc.) Im looking for this "update my rhino model in studio without changing all my settings" button. or do i just have the wrong workflow ?
thanks for answering

There's an option to import the newer versions of items into the existing Studio scene so that
one would not have to start from scratch entirely, but you probably know that already. Models aren't
referenced in Studio but actually imported, there's no linkage whatsoever, so I guess the answer is no.
Maybe it was worth giving the Rhino plugin another chance, I find it very well done and greatly prefer
staying inside the modeller over using Studio.

I also work with the studio which I defintly prefer as the FZ plug in. I just delete the object or layers that
need to be changed and import the new one.. So I don't have to texture everything once again but only
the new imported ones. You can also save your import table which will automaticly link a layer name with
a material..

referenced data is a way to add complex geometry in a scen without cloning object. say as instances.
so it is not linked with some geometry in a another software but with a geometry that is allready in
you studio scene. I don't know if I explained it right..

normally you just have to click on "Create MXS Reference", select a mxs and place it in the scene.
