Hi
Ive been trying to do some rendering of furniture, upholstery, beds and the like, but I just cant get it right. Could someone guide me to a tutorial or walk me through it?

if you are a 3ds max user then the satin and velvet wizards are still available which have proven to be quite reliable.

current build of studio doesn't appear to have a default for these fabric materials......

No, I use SolidWorks but applies all materials in Maxwell. Ive tried all the fabric materials I could find and tried to make my own using downloaded seamless fabric textures, but none of it looks realistic. My main problem is when theres a fillet or radius in the cad model. Material applied on those surfaces are sort of streched out and looks weird. Not real at all.

Ok, this is no cloth specific problem then but should apply to all materials with textures. What you see are UV-problems.
Afaik inside SW one can only work with predefined UV-projections like box-spherical etc. Maybe applying one of these projectors helps in your case
If this doesn't solve your problem one could use more advanced UV editing methods on an exported polygon mesh outside of SW and afterwards render in Studio.

I've asked a lot for good fabric preset.
however I use those velvet or towel or satin presets from version 1 and in 2.7 you can add grass modifier to the object, and make it very thin and short, like small wires from the fabric itself. for objects that are closer to camera, it adds a lot of realism.
