Hello deep__dive,

Well, that is not entirely correct. In general terms, and for any kind of lighting, the more direct light that impacts your surfaces, the faster the rays will find the light source, reducing the time needed to solve the equation (thus, getting a cleaner result in less time).
This is why any scene with direct lights gets cleaner faster than a indirect lighting setup, where there is much more complicated for the rays to find the light sources.

Said that, in any exterior scene, if the sun is directly impacting your surfaces, the render will get clean faster. If instead you set a backlit frame (with the sun behind the objects) all the lighting will be indirect, getting longer to clean.

In general terms, on all situations, the more proportion direct light (from sun or direct emitters) the faster the result.

Let me know if this helps to clarify your question.

Greetings

you can check this tutorial
http://support.nextlimit.com/display/tu ... or+renders
however after trying it I can tell you it has many drawbacks... the emitters in the windows burn all exterior of the windows, you cannot place emitter on the ground of a furnished interior, and getting a correct feel between too much light or too much noise is really hard. I wish there was some kind of fixed presets for this - perhaps in the engine itself...

Thanks, but i know this Tutorial very good. And i know also, that indirect light is much more difficult to render. My question is only, except of this things, if the position of the camera to the sunlight is a next step to make a good desicion in Relation of the rendertime, or if it is insignificant.
