now, what kind of device do they use to take those pics?

they seem to work so good in such a small places. I think it's amazing and very useful for making virtual tours of homes (which I could use!!!!)

There's a few different ways, ..... but it all pretty much revolves around using different lenses.

Sure ...... there's companies that make little kiosks that can be programmed with some OS and a viewer. ....but beyond knowing that, ....I know nothing.

I checked out the specs on the machine, ...they're pretty humble as far as machines go , ......so I'm gonna speculate that $2K should be a good figure ( or less).

I was talking to the guys at Seepoint.com

they want $3300 for the VantagePoint Light free-standing kiosk systems (Just like the one ivox posted)
and
$2550 for the regular one

their standard configuration is a wooping Celeron M 1.4GHz, 512MB of Memory, 80GB hard drive, running Windows XP Pro) (that thing will render on maxwell like a rape ape!!! )
