Any features you'd like to see implemented into Maxwell?

Fix clipmaps in Beta 1.2.2a maybe release a beta 1.2.3 engine

clipmaps worked in alpha, and in "bug" section this is now a FIXED bug...
could you release beta 1.2.2b (or 1.2.3)

this would totaly more than satisfy my render needs until a new RC

(i'm willing to wait till DEC 2006 for fixed RC if I can use clipmaps with my beta animations)

Second to that.. this is the one most important bug fix (besides speed improvement) that would bring peace for long while :o)

I woldn't say DEC 2006 (since we wouldn't be able to handle animations yet...) but I think it would make a BIG buch of us happy until... lets say the end of the spring ... :o)

Cheers!

animation works well (restricted to 24fps-would like 30fps) but at least animations render with beta...

and while im at it, I havnt been able to get a correct render frame match using pixel asect ratio of 0.9 - i matchmove with NTSC 720x480 (.9 pixel aspect) @ 30fps... But ive been trying to convert my frames to 720x540 (1.0 pixel aspect) and 24fps.. still havnt got a good result but ive had little time to try.. just been rendering my matchmoves with mental ray/maya software..

markps- do animaiton not work for you?- i see your using lightwave plug-no animation in lw? Animation works with mayall and beta

BTW> i was EXAGURATING when i said DEc 2006 i wanted enphasize that they should take as long as they need for them to give us a Really good RC release..... but ya I'll be happy for a LONG time with working climaps..

HI 3dtrialpractice,

Animation works fine.. but if you do the math with the BETA speed it would take a few years to Render a production quality 5 min animation. :o

10 hours * 24 Frames Per minute = 240 hours
240 * 60 seconds = 14400 Hours Per Minute
14400 * 5 Minutes = 72000 / 24 Hous (one day) = 3000 days! = 8+ Years!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On the OFF TOPIC side: so, we need a render farm to reach speeds "close" to other renders. What about a few free extra licenses to make more sence on what we've bought?

ohh ya good point...
definatly more licenses would help...

ya luckly stuff ive rendered so far fo animation has been limited to only 30mins a frame, luckly i dont do architecture so NO DIALECTICS for me
(dont use emmiters either for the most part, just sun and phy sky)
I try to keep my scense Very very simple...

so i get just a decent result rendering 30min-45min a frame, But doing math(your right time is crazy) even at 30min a frame=1 sec in 720min(12hours)so 2 seconds rendered a DAY...

point made... guess i'm gonna be busy and waiting a while!

well maybe like you said we'll see a new RC engine thats relativly fast and works by spring...

untill then many sleepless hours,

cheers,
Luke
