Has anyone seen this error in RC for Maya?
I have created a totally new scene with all new models, but still get this error

do you have the right plug-in loaded ? It happened to me once because I had the two versions (beta and RC) still listed, and checked the beta one to export to RC....

i believe i have the correct plugin ( version Maya 7 do you mean?)
In Maya, under the Maxwell tab, i scroll down to About Maxwell, and it still says i have 1_2_2_beta activated, but i uninstalled Maxwell, then installed the new RC....
Am i missing a step?

yes, i think you didn't download or install the new plug-in. the one for beta doesn't work for RC.....

check the env variables as well they may be pointing to the wrong place
