No crash here either, I tried with several different preview quality levels and bounces. Maybe it has to do with the preview scene you are using?

I've only tried it with the default supplied with RC2.

Maximus3D wrote:But ok did any of you guys first apply the material to a object, then add the coating, then change the color the coating, then close the the window on the X. Will that crash for any of you ?

did some more tests.

when i create a material, edit it, add coating to the basic bsdf, and modify reflectance or transmittance color it crashes...

more test

i think found what is wrong

1: when you open studio, create a material, without selecting it, end try to edit it crashes (with the steps seen before)

2: but when i do the same, and select the material before editing it, it doesn't crash.

the funny thing, is that with solution 1, the default material is in the editor when you open it... maybe that's it

Nice going Olivier! I confirm crash as well. If you create material but do NOT select it in the layer list, you just change reflectance and then press X to close color picker, Studio crashes.

Hehehe :D amazing you couldn't reproduce this bug Tom, perhaps your system is just too optimized and stable. This makes me wonder if you're really using a Mac there and not a PC since it's so stable :P

But hmm.. when you say that it makes me think of another thing, as you betatest Maxwell then you could in theory miss critical bugs as they don't for some strange reason cause your system to crash but now obviously cause crashes on many other users system. Thos could be bad..
