Thanks, overlooked that.
Anyone find a way to get some background in the material window? Trying to obtain transparency is quite cumbersome without it.

(btw, nothing to do with the material editor, but I found that I could use the render pulldown. After hearing all those people complain about I avoided it, but it actually worked. The SHIFT-CONTROL-P trick however brought up the dreaded 'aplication needs to close')

At least thanks for the confirmation. I'm scrutinizing the interface so intensely that I almost reported a strange icon without mouse over explanation. After a long study I discovered that I could take it off my screen with a tissue :)

For others who may have overlooked it: you can right click on the material preview and there are very usefull options to be found.

LOL, I like that one.

Whoever place the "refresh preview" and the "Enable dispersion" icon at their current place should enroll in a beginner's course for Interface design. Controls need to be placed as close as possible to the area they are affecting.

Btw: The "dispersion" icon disappears when enabled...

Yes, but by checking if you change the Abbe number you can discover the current status. Very convenient 8)

thanks for uploading this scene.
It's the first one the engine doesn't crash with on my machine-
and finally I had a chance to get to see a new window - reminds me on entering a new level in a game

Hi,

user will be able to create their own preview scenes for material editor. so that you can put something behind the ball, etc...

Also by right mouse clicking on the preview sample you have some options of quality and scale.

Tom said somewhere that the preview is a mxs file. It's in maxwell\preview\defaultpreview.mxs

But all the geometry you put there takes the preview material.

Nice test tetsu! ;) With a thinner coating, interference would make much sense like a soap bubble. It's a matter of choice of course...

Yes, it's about material preview, not the viewport preview. We will provide a better scene setup for material previews.
