Any features you'd like to see implemented into Maxwell?

Hi gang,

Just a couple of queries or wishes while I wait for version 1 (eight days to go!).

1. Is there a way for Maxwell to do some kind of "locked" sampling based on the same point on a polygon area and then interpolate between those samples for a naughty speed increase? In other words, I guess the renderer wouldn't get less noisy just more accurate (or in focus) as the solution converged. Like the way vray samples from the same polygon area for photon mapping an irradiance solution? (also faster because it requires fewer samples to generate a useful image and helpful in animation).

2. Can networked machines work on one single frame from within the basic renderer - ie, within one button click or if you ran a simple host program on the network? (that would indeed be sweet).

3. Here's hoping that the MXC file has been replaced with a simple GUI - not hugely fond of that command line thing.

4. Is there also the possibility of an ND filter (and since you guys know photography I'm sure you know what I'm talking about - for those of us who would like low Depth of Field and Skylight at the same time as film compatible 1/48th sec shutter for motion blur)

5. multi-sub objects within max seem not to work - all coloured with the same material - maybe i'm doing something wrong?

That's it for now - well done and looking forward to what I'm sure will be the future of rendering.

Another version of number 2 for stills:

Let's see the example of 4 machines working together, MW should just crop the image in 4 parts and each machine render one piece.
