btw, are u using skydome or physical sky on the evening(+emmiters of course)
and how many bounces and wich sampling level has the last one reached?

Very nice renders.
All of them was rendered with Alpha_1.1.10
Seems there's a lot of folks on here recently who have given up on Beta and gone back to Alpha....... :roll: :oops:

Great! For the sake of realism like this, I really hope we can do animations with Maxwell one day. Fantastic job! Also could you share more light to as to why you switched back to alpha? Because I no longer remember what the debate over alpha and beta was.

The wierd thing is that in the second image, it is the other two houses that seem fake although I think they are real.

Nice render, very nice materials.

The cupboards are rendering as if there is only one poly there??

How many polygons wide is it? The cupboard face would render 'flatter' if there was an extra row of geometry around the edges which would assist Maxwellrender in seeing the shape of the object... The lower the number of polygons, the more the shader has to guess, and sometimes guess incorrectly.

I used to use a different texture for the absolute flat areas, and set smoothness to zero in the texture... however, I find now that i get better rendering of the flat areas with extra geometry at the bends; to better describe the surface. It creates a more realistic rounding of all corners while allowing one a contiguous surface texture.

So, I guess I'm saying is, that the only thing I see wrong (technically) is the rounding of the cupboard faces.

To me the kitchen looks a little cramped, the doors in the corner appear to be unusable... unless it was a swinging hinged door. (an articulated door that folds to form the corner) I think a quick check of dimensions against a blueprint might help. Sometimes it's easy to get so familiar with a project such errors can just not be seen... Which is why you have us I guess.
