......the grain thing can be either way nowadays, i dig it myself.

but i do agree with the flatness. I think this type of image with it's overall light tones in walls/cabinets would be much better suited for a night shot.

....Night shot: 1. get some under cabinet lighting
2. drop a few spots on the front eating surface
3. i think standard D65 type emitters would bring out the
orangeyellow end of the spectrum, that will add much to
the richness of the scene.
4. and for the love of God, get a less flashy upholstery on
those stools. later i3.

observation: is that eating area up front a little polygonal on the left or is that the actual shape ? it's looking faceted.

The rendering is ok, but not enough light variation. I can't say I'm a fan of the black granite (or marble or whatever is).

Also, just a design comment...if you're going to remove such a large portion of the wall and stick a counter in there, why not just remove the wall completely and design a nice counter piece. The way it looks now, its as if someone came along and said, "Hey look, an arched opening, let's stick a counter there!"

well now that deesee said it ........, i was thinking the same, yet held back.

......not many people are gonna give up that kind of space, it's novel as ideas go -----maybe not so practical in real life.

............but this isn't real life, so what the hell. do what ya like.
