Love the cars, brilliant and super fun to drive.

I've been building that mini model since mid 2002 on and off. I want it to be completely accurate right down to the engine... so it should be finished sometime in 2007. :)

cheers all
Great renderings and so quick without noise.

How did you make the model of the Mini? It just seems that the shape between the Head lamps and the A pillar is wrong. It just seems to rise up in a curve too much or perhaps its the reflections giving the 'bloated' look to the panel.

JJs,

Here are two amber test renders to show you the true shape of the model without distracting colour and reflection... also another Mini render... a failed 6000pixel render which mysteriously 'vanished' while I was on vacation... came home and maxwell was GONE.. but a partially rendered image was left... sigh...

Anyway, I'm glad I rendered the amber version of the mini, since it allowed me to spot a few model errors! Yay!

thanks

The car model is great. For the rendering I would try to use an other ground.
Also I feel, the reflections are burned out or to hard contrasted. Interesting for me was to use a burn 0 (or 0.1) and adjust the contrast per gamma control. A little bit fine tune in PS after all helps me for the finish.
If you rendering is working, you can rename your output image at the harddisk and than you can change the burn/gamma values in the mxi rendering view and after 10 min you get a second version of your image. So, you could compare both methods without to much extra rendertime.

Great work. The tight shots of the mini are excellent! Inspired, I'm off to explore...

Time for some "and such", or non-mini work.

An old model that I dusted off and re-rendered in maxwell.
This was my Lightwave best render last year.

And a couple Maxellrender versions... I spent much less time with setup... but the first image was 67 HOURS worth of rendering... I was trying to get rid of the noise... which just refuses to go away.

This was only a few hours... which makes me think it may have more to do with depth of field then anything else.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate the feedback. I learn a lot about how people view my work, which in turn makes it better... at least one can hope anyway.

but thanks. More stuff cookin on the P4. :)

Looks good. Cool. Is it not dangerous to open a working phaser?

62 hours ... seems to be very long. Try to render in doublesize-denoise-downscale50%. So I get clean images in a short time (most 12... 16 hours). I have a problem with the inhomogen noise, looks strange. Maybe, you get it with d-d-d way.

thanks guys. one of the few models where I actually sketched quite a bit first... they always look more refined. :)

in fact I rendered it 2X, The noise didn't change much from about 10 hours on. I have a couple machines, so I just left that one alone to render... now I know that dealing with depth of field stuff and maxwell = noise.
