My last bug was moved from Tom from the bug section to the rhino section with a short quick and wrong answer only. Now is silence there. Strange kind of communication.

I could discover the bug more but make it sense, because:
- the Maxwell engine is more than one month old,
- NL have anoucend to have an internal team and
- the response to the bug reports is very poor

Dear Micha,

A "report" should be an exact conclusion to deserve to stay under Bug Reports section. It's strictly NOT my personal intention to move it here. Since your post is NOT deleted anyway, you can keep your bug search here and when it's done you can post the result somewhere else. Please understand that we have to keep Bug Reports section as clean and as simple as possible, otherwise there may be countless challenges.

Tom, shouldn't there be a more relaxed standard for bug reports from customers versus internal beta testers? If we come across unexpected behavior that we can't solve and can reproduce, we should be able to put it in the Bug Reports forum without too much difficulty.

Micha may be right in that our feedback regarding bugs is probably inconsequential since our build is obsolete.

I interpreted Toms answers as it make sense to report bugs, but a direct answer to this question could be useful. How big is the difference between Maxwell 1.2.2 and the current version?

As you know, there may be numerous problems everyday while setting a scene and there you may find some bugs or judge them as bugs. I can understand that you want to post them under Bug Reports section to have more attention maybe. I agree there are enough talented people about their art and experiences in 3D to post the problems they have under Bugs Section but it's not always being the same and we have to filter this posts for keeping the section clean. The rule is simple, a bug report must have an exact definition to it at least to be a "report" first. In other hand, "I'm having trouble about something" is a different thing than a bug report.

Tom, an idea: we could post Bugs with the name "Bug: ..." in the subject in the standard Maxwell forum, and if you like, you can move it later to the bug section, so that all can see, this is a proved bug. But you should post it to the rules for the bug section.

Please, could you ask the developing team for the sense of reporting bugs of the current Maxwell.

Hi Micha,

It has a lot of sense to report bugs. Your release is one month old but one month is not too time, and you provide us essential info. I promise your report has been investigated today. Also it was not bad idea moving it to Rhino section after we have analyced it because in this case the origin of the bug could be in the plugin so the rhino programmer and users can see it.

We are imperfect humans and of course sometimes we are wrong moving post . Our only intention is to make the forum as clear as possible for you. Please if you think that any post is not in the right place, tell us.
Good idea to write "Bug" in the subject

Yes, I agree that pleas for help don't belong in the bug reports forum. As I said, I consider a bug to be unexpected behavior that is reproduceable. Juan has posted a very good solution.

i'm not reporting bugs anymore, as we don't get any patches or updates anymore. makes not much sense to write bug reports for obsolete builds of software. also, my last emailed bug reports (directed to support) did not get any answer/confirmation. however, when we get a new build of plugins/ mxw i'll be there again to report new bugs...
