G'day!

Here's a thing i did for a locally arranged daily speedmodel/render competition. Today's theme was to create a window with curtains and something in the window such as a flower or something, but lazyness got to me late last night so i skipped the flower and did just this. :)

The Maxwell rendering:

The 3dsmax wireframe:

As always when taking part of speedmodeling competitions like this then detail and realism got to take a beating since it's difficult to get it all in one go in the short time you have to finish it. I dedicated 1 hour to modeling and texturing and ofcourse scene setup, rendering isn't ofcourse included since that took 8 hours and was done off competition hours while i slept.

If anyone wants the scene without the textures let me know and i'll put it up temporarily.

Heh you're right about that thing above the curtains, it has a comical twist to it but actually i looked at my own here in my apartment and it looks alot like that one so it was kinda like my reference for this.

You're right about the thing that it should been some kinda opening thingy there too so it wouldn't been like it is now with just the thin bars covering the window and no glass. It's pretty unrealistic :) but that's alright with me, i did this in a hurry so i skipped on the realism a bit here and there.

There's no glass in this window and no physical sky either, just the big white emitter you see on the wireframe and that's all that light's up the scene. It's at 2500W also.

Thanks Andronikos :)

That curtain material could be better but i'll make a more serious hopefully better looking version too later on.

Here are the settings i used for the curtains (plastic shader):
Color: 124, 164, 145
Specular: 0, 33, 25
U roughness: 0,45
V roughness: 0,71
Absorption: 0,6
Scattering: 1,0

And then it's just a color and a bump texture slapped onto it.
