Picture one.... "who started the fight..?"

Picture two.... " shuuuuut, they might still be there.... gimme the 45..."

real stories in each picture... this is the principal meaning and goal for making a picture... and you damn succeded... !!

very cool... I like these messy renders... you champion of the messydetails that make a picture talk.... !

BRAVO TWICE !

Great images, but you didn't use your nice fiberglass texture on the rockers!

eh, thanks guys. jake, actually i started rendering that image before the other ones with the blue plastic (to get where it is now _ 16 samples _ it took about 30 hours at 1000x700 something res on a P4 northwood 2 gigs ram), these red ones are basically a quite simple sss plastic mat (no maps of any sort). i must admit the sub scattering effect is almost invisible and a total failure, still it increased rendertime quite a bit.

rivoli wrote:i don't know, i had a photo as reference (well, sort of), the caustics casted by the chair are exactly as the real ones (more or less). they are emitter size dependant and in this case i used a very small one.
the problem is we can't control caustics per object as yet, in this case the floor is not supposed to produce all those strong caustics (in fact it wouldn't in real life).
caustics control per object will maybe implemented.
under 3dsmax just go to the utilities tab, click for more and there
you'll find the appropriate option.

both. actually is a very simple poly (roughly modelled to look like a sheet of used paper) with diffuse and bump maps. here's a screengrab:
