If you have energy settings set to put your mac to sleep and you have a maxwellrender rendering, the mac goes to sleep anyway..

could this be considered a bug?

I don't thik it's a bug. To many aplications do that. But it will be good if the machine don't sleep while rendering.

That is indeed a problem a lot of applications suffer - wouldn't it be nicer if he computer checks for himself? Apple really should make this an option IMO.
