I seem to have forgotten how to do the light-bloom effect with max6

maxwell is a standalone external renderer (it works outside max), so you can't add any max's post effect.

That and a DOF effect.

DOF in maxwell can't be turned off or on, maxwell's cameras work as real cameras so you always have a focal point and depth of filed (its actual depth depending on focal lenght, fstop and subject size).
there are tons of posts and threads about dof around here, try searching the forum and you'll find a lot of info about how it works.
