   ... and how did you make the composite?

I see no border between the MXI sphere and the shadowed ground.
Or did you make the composite in a photosoftware? Or did you make a texture frontal projection transformation with an other application? In my renderman renderer I would know an esay way, but in Maxwell ... .

Good work Mane!

Did you make your own texture maps for this object?(Photographs)

Micha: I think Mane used a technique called camera projection mapping.

You basically map the environment image to a dome, and a flat disc or plane ground, then put your object in this space and it will render out as part of the environment.

Micha: be patiente!! i agree with maxwell is so difficult but is it imposible??really no!!

Tyrone Marshall: really thanks for your words. All textures was made by myselves creating layers and mask in photoshop and then applying them in maxwell of course  . About camara proyection mapping...maybe you´re right :D

thanks all

do file jpg = mxi, put jpg in difuse material, ajust render, when you have right, change material put emitter mxi in difuse material, now you have right ajust

Im sure it was about projection mapping, but how could you match the lit plane's brightness, tone, and color with the backround??! :)

This is really exciting... :D

Thanks for the hints. I'm confused, is it possible to use a camera projection mapping with maxwell in a plugin?

@Tyrone: Nice technic, I never have used it. I used only real panoramas and a backdrop image. But the projection on a sphere is a good idea. Thanks.
