Heres updates of same model, this time with a quick environment I threw in.
Thanks for all the tips, especialy having double sided glass, huge help :)
If anyone has further ideas on car shaders or maxwell plastic settings, please let me know. Im happy with the black car but the red still seems...plasticy.

Great update of your cars there! they do look beautiful now :D and pretty realistic too when set in a enviroment like this.

But there's just one thing i would like to change and it's again the rims, there's something about the metal that don't feel quite right. I hate to say this but it has the typical Maxwell look now.. try using a hdri map to reflect instead of the sky and maybe try to get a polished aluminium look on those rims, then you got got realism ;)

Good job!

thanks for all the compliments . im really begining to see the advantages of maxwell. I can get results almost as good in mental ray, but it always has a cg quality to it.

gonna go install the latest patch for maxwell now.

Wow. Really nice renders. Especially the black one. :D

I think it would help if you put some bump or added some detail to the tires. I know racing tires dont have much pattern!!, but it dosnt look like rubber.

I also like the enviroment :)

It is not bad. Just the light are bad, the texture will not do it, you need to find out something better. Check my car renderings on this forum mybe that will help you

In fact, i think both of them look very realistic already, :o but render them longer might looks better......

True, heres the paint settings i came up with. best I could get so far with my limited knowledge of maxwell materials.
Also, I will add all the details to the lights and tires by next weekend, but right now I have to finish modeling/texturing a restaurant for work.

thanks once again for the shader tips too, The grey image in the glossy slot is a trick thatll come in handy in the future!
