There's a new option in quality to render with gpu. Anyway look at the benchmark. He have to have a really superb PC or that render is done with gpu.

So there's an option to choose between CPU or GPU rendering?
A hybrid system?

THAT WOULD BE AWESOME!

At the moment options are Production, Draft and GPU. We are working on hybrid system. Anyway info about development schedule of features will be given on launch time.

can please clarify....gpu and production are same quality? just one is cpu and one is gpu? not like "gpu preview but cpu for render" or anything of the sort?

I've been off maxwell for a few years on the GPU stuff, but I really want to be able come back!

On maxwell webpage is said:

"All the technology under the hood is identical to the classic CPU engine - which means your images are exactly the same, unbeatable Maxwell quality."

Our aim it's that the gpu engine can be used to generate production renders. We even have a few things that work better on GPU than on CPU production. But don't expect the gpu engine being perfect from day 1. This is the beginning and a lot of things will be added.
