Hello,

I was trying the Maxwell volumetric tag to create a single cumulus cloud, but that's not possible or am I mistaken?
Is it beter to create such a cloud out of geometry and add a cloud material?
Advice is very much appreciated.

Kind regards

Marc

There are many ways of using the Volumetric tag, so please be more specific about your approach, and/or provide (send to jeremy at nextlimit dotcom) an example Cinema file.

Thanks for sending the file. In this case, you have put a Volumetric tag on a particle emitter, so for each particle generated by Cinema, Maxwell generates a density area in the volumetric. In order to create a cloud shape, you would either need to create a particle system in that general shape, and play with the Particles Field parameters, or put the tag on a null, and use an OpenVDB file. For more information on volumetrics in Maxwell, please see this page.
