Personally, I'd recommend that whenever possible, anyway. Installing on a different drive means, basically, that you permanently tie the two drives together, since registry entries, appdata, etc are on the system drive, and the program binaries on the installation drive. Not too big a deal with Maxwell, since it doesn't use those things as much as some other applications, but a good rule of thumb in general, imho.
