This is a question on Maya Cameras (version 2012)
I needed to reproduce an specific camera, and am having problems, with units.
I knew for sure that focal lengths are expresed in milimeters, so I have no problem to reproduce a 24 mm lens.
Muy problem is with film gale. If I use the 35mm default setting, I assume it referes to MOVIE 35mm not SRL 35mm that i have to use.
The first use a frame of 18 x 24 mm, and the second a frame of 24 x 36 mm.
But Maya gaves me a frame of 0.98 x 0.735 which seemed weird. After playing arround with units, I fugured out it is in INCHES! 0.98 INCHES is 24mm and 0.735 INCHES is 18 mm so it refers to the MOVIE 35mm.
Now since I have to reproduce an SRL format, it should be as follows: 0.98 INCHES x 1.47 INCHES = 24mm x 36mm
This is not friendly at all, so I wonder if the user can change the film gate units from INCHES to MILIMETERS?
And if that is possible where are the preferences to do that?
Thanks in advance!
Ernesto
