Hi

I have a problem when starting the Render node, it crashes. My setup is like this:

One floating license + 10 nodes included running on license server computer. I want license server computer to run the manager and 1 node.

Then I want clients to run network render and engage only this one node, which is also the license server computer.

When I start the node on this computer, I get this message and then it crashes. Manager starts fine. I've tried resetting the Preferences in the Node and Manager.

Oh, and btw, please update the forum to allow image upload.

Hi Bjorn,

That might be a licensing issue. What happens if you launch maxwell.exe locally in that node? Does it get licensed?

If that is not the case, the other possibility is that you have a firewall/antivirus that is blocking the tcp port 45459.

Thanks,

Juan

Hi,

I will double check the licensing. I know I had some trouble with it so I had to change the port to 5055 instead of 5053. But, last time i checked maxwell.exe did get licensed. And other computers in the network do get the license.

Could it really be a firewall issue, when I'm running the node on the same computer as the manager and the license server is running on?

Ok, just double checking because I am a bit confused:

- does the problem happen only in one specific node?
- If so, does it happen only when you have something else running in that node? (network manager, monitor, license manager)

Thanks,

Hi

No problem,

Yes, it only happens on our "render server" computer. Node starts fine on another computer.

1. I'm not running monitor on that one,
2. It does not matter if the manager is started or not. The manager starts fine btw.
3. I've tried shutting down the RLM License manager server, but that just gives me a License error in the node instead of the TCP port error.

Regards.
