And then, after you've done this, Go to the Win 8 computer.

Open Maxwell, forget about Studio for now.

The license validator appears.

Choose the option "Maxwell Render Suite - floating (Connect to the license manager already running)." !!!IMPORTANT!!!

Enter the email, pass, license key (I don't think it matters which one, you can use the key from your first license, or the second one)

You should see the message that the license has been properly activated.

On this Win 8 machine, you will only see one license file in C:\ProgramData\Next Limit\Maxwell\licenses:
maxwell_license.lic

Why not 2? Because on this machine RLM is not running. What does this file contain? A simple line telling Maxwell to which computer to connect in order to get the license from the RLM server on that machine. Should it be an IP or machine name? In your case it should be the IP, which I think we already covered in another thread.

Mihai, I activated the second license key this afternoon on the Win 8 machine and can not redo the whole procedure. Would I have to de install maxwell to do that? This is what I get to see once I click on License info on my MaPro running Win 8:

License type: FULL SUITE
User name: Carsten Quilitz
Company: Dipl. Ing. Carsten Quilitz
Issue date:
Expiration date: permanent
Issued by: NEXTLIMIT
License checked out from server ID: 10.0.1.2 (10.0.1.2)

I did all that, but still no luck! the Ip in the file where my Win 8 Mac Pro is supported to look for the licenses is 10.0.1.2. And that is exactly what is written in the one line in "maxwell_license.lic on my Win8 Machine. I guess for some reason the RLM has not yet accepted the second license...

Maybe it is best for you guys to combine my licenses like Juan mentioned....
You can ask us through the customer portal to unify both keys into a single one (that is not really necessary because the first step should work fine, but this is a possibility anyway)

But lets forget about the second license......you can license Maxwell on this second computer, using the other license key.

This is confusing:
Mihai, I activated the second license key this afternoon on the Win 8 machine and can not redo the whole procedure.
Why did you use the second license key on this Win8 machine, when on the one where the RLM license server is running, you used the first license key?

So there is maybe a misunderstanding here, you need to do this in two steps now to make the second floating license you have, added to the first one.

Do these exact steps please. Forget what you've done this afternoon etc.

Delete any license files on this Win 8 machine. And just to make sure we are talking about the same things - RLM is NOT running on this Win8 machine, correct??

1. Go to the computer where RLM is running (NOT your Win8 computer), open the license activator by opening Maxwell>Help>Activate license
2. Choose the option: Maxwell Render Suite - Floating (activate the RLM License Server or add more Floating seats or rendernodes to the existing one). If you don't see this exact label, don't worry, just choose the second option from the list of options.
3. Enter your info, and the second license key you received
4. Choose to append it to the existing .lic file when it asks you.
5. If all is good, lets proceed, if not tell me what errors you get.

6. Go to the computer running Win8 (which is NOT running the RLM server), which now should have no .lic files.
7. Go to C:\ProgramData\Next Limit\Maxwell\licenses
8. Create there a file named maxwell_license.lic, and in it, it should only have the line: HOST 10.0.1.2 ANY 5053

Restart Maxwell, on this Win8 machine, and check Console Panel now.
