I'm on the latest updates of Sketchup, the SU plugin for maxwell and Maxwell itself.

I'm having trouble assigning MXMs to objects. In the past I've clicked on the icon with the folder (6th icon along), which opens MXED. I then locate the MXM I want to use, click on it and so long as the surface is still selected in SU model, that MXM gets assigned to that surface.

But now, I get the spinning ball. It freezes SU. Anyone know why this is happening?

Even if I have nothing selected in my SU model and go up to Plugins/Maxwell/Materials Picker Toll (which boots MXED) and then click once on any MXM in the preview area on the right, SU freezes.

Are you sure SketchUp is not just waiting for you to close MXED? It is only when you close MXED, that the plugin finds out what you did with it, so it has to wait for you to do that. So, the routine for selecting an MXM from your disk is: click the toolbar button to start MXED, browse to the desired MXM inside of MXED, then double-click on that MXM; that will close MXED, at which point control returns to the SketchUp UI, and the plugin finds out what you selected.

I feel a bit stupid! If I'd double clicked and not just single clicked, I would have been fine! I mistook the spinning ball for a crash when all it was was SU waiting for ME!!!
