Very minor nitpick but sort of puzzling.
All other buttons (standard render, FIRE, export MXS) work fine...

No recent system changes that I'm aware of.

I assume you're on R14 or R15, in which case I see what you mean. Please try calling it from a toolbar button, or directly from Plugins > Maxwell, instead of from the AM (or let me know, in the case you're seeing behavior other than I describe here).
