Yes, it is true that this sounds nice, but the danger here is that using channels at different SL than the main render would end up with aliasing errors.
While you may see the channel is reasonably clean, if the SL is different, the aliasing in the edges could be different, causing you later problems on the edges.
But if this where not a problem in your project, the approach of launching the main render (that a longer SL) and launching another render with all the channels (to a lower SL) is the easiest way.

This doesn't seem possible with network render though? If uncheck "Render" under the render channels tab but leave MatID checked, it still renders out an image with the MatID.dariolanza wrote:Hello arch3D,
