Any features you'd like to see implemented into Maxwell?

A while ago in the maya forum , I got a link to a nice toy called "Dsplace" that allows you to displace a geometry with a texture, not using a shader.
I mentioned it because every time I want to see my displacement results (lets say - how an interior brick wall works with the pictures hanging on it) - I need to test render in maxwell,
and wait a while before I can see if objects overlap one another, or not.
So my wish is to have a displacement wireframe or something in viewport (could be even a simple bounding box that shows the extents of the displacement) since the toy I mentioned is not working the same as maxwell's displacement...
thanx !

i see what you mean, interesting idea.

in case of displacement, i always use the absolute setting. meaning i know that the material will, on a white spot on the texture, displace no more than eg. 5 cm.
that is usually accurate enough to position objects accordingly.

still i'd find it helpful too if it was possible to extract and display the max and minimum values in the viewport as pointcloud or such.

Sometimes displacements are done without absolute dimensions but according to the naked eye... and even when using absolute valuces, I think it's more logical to see the exact points of the objects. it's quit similar to a what I had to ask about MXS references, to see it as wires and not points.

So, is this a known issue?

Thanks a lot for your response, I will update and […]

did you tried luxCore?
