Have you seen the actual detail in those maps? See the skin maps for example, it's pretty amazing tech in my opinion. I don't think there are any maps of 3D data at this resolution you can just use in a sculpting app or as is on a material.

ok. maybe for details, but these brick or concrete textures are pretty useless at this size if not used for detail shots.

Overall the textures are more for closeup shots. Although for larger surfaces you can use them as a tiled base with your own textures/grunge overlaid to break up the patterning. With the amount of detail in the displacment/normal maps, it works quite well. I actually do that quite a bit and it works quite well.

Is a square meter the max real world scale of the textures he can scan?
