Any features you'd like to see implemented into Maxwell?

hi,
it's pretty commmon to take multiple shots with same camera in a scene, frame by frame.
So let's say i've three shots in same scene, frame 0, 1 and 2.
I want to render these on network, and i want to render each of them in cooperative mode.
Now, i cant find an wasy way to do it. If i activate "animation" and send to network, yes it saves three scenes but i'll have to add them to queue manually, and MXI/imagefiles will have same name (so ach MXI will overwrite previous one, uless i manually rename each output file - pretty tedious).
It would be very useful if i could send multiple frames on network in cooperative, and i simply get Finename_Framenumber.MXI and Finename_Framenumber.PNG saved automatically.

I'm exporting from Lightwave.
Maybe it works if i use "animation mode", butthen i dont get cooperative mode on single frames.
If i set "animation" into Maxell options, and then i render in cooperative mode because i just want to render 3 or 4 big frames, it would be nice to have progressive renaming as well.

Still not sure I understand......if you have one camera which holds 4 frames, you export this animation to MXS, you should get four MXS files named: filename0001.mxs, filename0002.mxs etc - one MXS per frame. There must be some setting in the LW export to specify a framenr to be added to the output name so each frame isn't overwritten. In your case though, since you want to render in coop mode (it doesn't save you time though), you could add these frames manually and use coop mode and add an output macro before exporting them, in LW, or in the Add job wizard from Network:

http://support.nextlimit.com/display/ma ... put+macros

For example the date and/or time macros. This will ensure the files won't be overwritten.

PS - about time saving, it's true i dont save time if i render a lot of frames. If i render 3-4 frames, in coop mode i'll use all 9 nodes, otherwise manager will assign a single node to each frame, and i'd have the other nodes idle.

Hello Paolo,

Yes, in general terms, for Animation jobs, you save time sending the frames in Cooperative mode when you have more nodes than frames.

Instead, when you have more frames than nodes (which is the most common situation) you save time submitting them as an Animation job, because you save a lot of files transfer and merging time.

So, is this a known issue?

Thanks a lot for your response, I will update and […]

did you tried luxCore?
