Most cameras MP numbers are nonsense anyway, they dont actually have that many pixel sites in R,G+B, or even have their pixels in a grid configuration, sometimes its a honeycombe, or bayer grid. but saying 42mp is a joke for sure.

Daros, when I look at the unenhanced raw, it still has sharpening applied? You know its a problem working with sharpened images in Photoshop.. There must be a way to save output unsharpened... I hope?

The high frequency detail is impressive, especially in this one: http://updown.stack-studios.com/nextlim ... osc002.jpg

Curious how it compares with a normal dslr that has a low pass filter, how it handles moire patterns.

Now I learned a lot more about MTF and resolution

That was interesting (parts 2&3),
The Foveon sensor does overcome some of the issues because its doesn't use seperate r,g,b sites, but essentailly the problem is still removing the 'grid'.

Daros I couldnt download the source photo (top), thanks for uploading the others, If you say the source photo was sharp then I hope sigma can release a firmware update, but perhaps its optical sharpening introduced by a physical grid over the sensor - as per the videos - I hope not, it does look like a software effect.

ok thanks for explaining. actually I do copy the T[…]
