Hehe, you sure do like to calculate numbers don't you. that's a fine collection you got there, i especially like the framed one. My father used to work with that many moons ago.

I have the 'HP 42S' and I'd hate to give it up. A few years ago I modeled it for a small project and even rendered it with Maxwell just a few months ago


A few years ago HP came out with the anniversary edition of the 35S which I bought for the purpose of using it at work. It's nowhere near as good as the 42S, irrational numbers smaller than 0 get converted to scientific notation but then the exponentiation value does not fit on the screen and you have to scroll sideways just to see the value of the exponent. Unbelievable!!!

Anyway, I love the fall back to the slide rule

It's an "adder" calculator. It's from circa 1893-99. Here's a couple of links:

I collect mostly RPN calcs. The one one the right in the back is from National Semiconductor. It's one of the few RPN's from someone other than HP. I still need to get an HP 10C...

Really nice render! You nailed the texture from what I can see. The 42S is a nice machine. I have the 35s sitting in front of me; I like it. It's kind of retro with the (bigger) keys like the older 10-16C.

Irrational numbers; you just can't argue with them...
