Ok, maybe this might sound dumb...
We have been rendering using our network always with internet. But for a while we are having some issues with our internet connection, that goes off periodically... Since then the Maxwell Network seems to miss some nodes from time to time...

Question: Can we render via network without internet? How are the 5 render nodes detected? (we have a standard license and 5 nodes)
Cheers!

I don't believe internet or no internet should make a difference.

But, depending on network configuration, your IP addresses may be changing if there is no network connection present. OSX for example likes to self-assign an IP if you are usually running DHCP for assignment and the connection goes down.

had the same issues a while back with dropped node. Now using crossover patch cable , solved the dropped node issues and no internet connection required and you avoid using a router as well.

I just think its very sensitive to any drops in connection ,which could happen if you are surfing the web as well.I'm no expert on this just sharing my observations. Why don't you just leave one computer connected to the net, and put your nodes on a seperate non internet network.Your motherboards will need more than one ethernet port if you wish to daisy chain more than two computers via a patch cable.( i use a workstation board which has two).
