A general question (I observed this with Alpha as well as Beta): I've tried a couple of times to create a "dome" over my entire scene to "trap" the light within. When I do this, rendering comes to a crawl, and I don't get the image one would expect.

I thought (naively?) that by doing this, it would be easier for the rendering engine to calculate what's going on because it only needs to be concerned with an enclosed space. This would also allow one to control reflections on objects. Is this wrong? In the "real world" this is done all the time (product photography where the camera is stuck through a hole in the dome). Comments? Anyone?
