If you mean support for parallel cameras, yes, this was added some versions ago. Of course it is just done using a hack, by creating a camera with a very long lens, but it gives a close approximation. It will not work with Cinema's axonometric camera projections, though.

Hi, I have installed both the new Maxwell plugin for Cinema 4D and the new plugin for RealFlow.

I have a scene with a gridmesh and realflow particles. When exporting to maxwell, the particles renders through the Maxwell particle extension. But the gridmesh is skipped.

Here is a snippet from the console:
[06/February/2012 22:35:40] Loading Extension Geometry..
[06/February/2012 22:35:41] [Extension RFMeshes] Executing Mesh Loader Extension :"GridMesh01"
ERROR: - [Extension RFMeshes] Couldn't create Mesh Loader Extension :"GridMesh01", skipping...

Does anybody know a way around.

Cheers,
Kevron

Yes, will provide a Dropbox link to a c4d file and some grismeshed files from Realflow. I will upload it tonight.

Tried also to do it straight in Studio, to import the gridmesh. But that did not work either. So, it could have something to do with gridmesh.

Here is a link to a scene containing a rf mesh, meshed with gridmesher.

I know about that the new Maxwell plugin for C4D has an experimental feature, and I have activated it.
I have no problems with rendering particles through Maxwell from Cinema, but meshes keep getting skipped.

Maybe with this scene you´ll dissect what the problem is.

Sorry, but I am able to render this mesh fine; I had to correct the File Path in your RealFlow Mesh Importer object for its location on my machine, un-check Lock Current Frame, go to frame 142, and then render. Can you confirm, at least, that this works for you as well?

Thanks for looking into it,

I think I have found out what caused this. As I had "activated" the experimental feature of the Cinema Plugin (deleted rfignore), my mesh would not export to Maxwell.

After replacing the file "rfignore" back in the plugin folder, the mesh is rendered, but not the particles.

Here is a file containing both mesh and particles. Are you able to render them out to Maxwell from Cinema?

I am doing through C4D because this is a part of an animation that is 200 frames. So importing both mesh and particles in Studio is not an ideal solution.

First, to clarify, RF support in the plugin is either enabled or disabled; if you delete the rfignore file, then the plugin will export the RF objects, otherwise, it will behave as it did in previous versions. In this case, that would mean: with the rfignore file in place, the plugin will not export any particles, and will export a mesh for the RealFlow Mesh Importer, which was generated by the RF plugin. With the rfignore file deleted, it will export a MaxwellParticles object for your RealFlow Particle Importer object, and an RFMeshes object for your RealFlow Mesh Importer object.

Second, though this file is also working fine here, I think I found your problem: I'm on Windows, and you're on OSX. I just did a clean install of Maxwell on OSX, and it appears that the reason you are getting that "Couldn't create Mesh Loader Extension" error would be that there isn't any RFMeshes.osx.mxx file in the install. With no RFMeshes extension, it's going to be a bit difficult for Maxwell to render RFMeshes.
#352624
Yes, you are correct. RFMeshes.osx.mxx is missing. Tried just to see if it worked if I put the RFMeshes.osx.mxx from Maxwell_render_v2.6.0, but that was a long shot.

I guess the install for Mac will be compiled again to include the missing extension.

Thank you for your clarifications.

Hi Kevron,

Yes, RFMeshes is missing in the OSX installation, we must recreate and upload new OSX installers.

I have attached the extension for 2.6.10 to this message, so you can just download it and copy it in your extension folder. So you won't need to wait and re-download the full installer when ready.

Best regards, and sorry for the inconveniences,

nachob
