Is it possible to make the plugin assign the correct blending mode when opening a .mxi (eg. linear dodge, multiply etc.)
I am using Maxwell 2.6 and Photoshop 12.1x64

It is not possible for now. The Phosothop SDK doesn't allow to set the blending mode of a layer. Maybe for CS6 (cross fingers ).

If you have too many layers to set the blending mode by hand you should try to create a photoshop action/script.
