It looks like some really cool new features are coming for Substance Designer including a free upgrade to version 2 for licensed version 1 holders -- there will also be a Mac version and a "lite" version released as well:

The new versions have been released -- there is a new version of the FREE player (with free samples) and Demo versions of both Substance Designer 2 and the new "Lite" Version as well for both PC and Macs.

I have to give this application a serious testrun soon, it looks like a lot of fun and it's possibilities are big for some fancy materialcreation.
Maybe now is the time to test it..
