This artist does some very weird "things" too... but It's a bit disturbing... like our world in act.. :)

I agree, those are very pretty macray and especially the first one from the harbor in Copenhagen. I've been there only once for a couple of hours and i'd like to go back sometimes for a longer visit.

Tonight i went on a walkabout in my neighborhood with a friend to take some fun shots with our macrolenses. I grabbed my 100mm macro and the 5D2 and shot these amongst many other pics. Enjoy! :)

Thanks guys :) last night was great with the very intense local storm that quickly passed by and it was a powerful one.
But over there in America you should have many much bigger and better storms passing by all the time so catching them on the sensor is much easier for you than for me. You just need to step outdoors from time to time Bubba. :)

Hehe, Hervé. The Sverige weather is not as scary as i am.. except for this storm which was a good one! :)

Congrats on your new camera Magnus!
I was considering the 5D2 in the beginning of my research but decided against a fullframe body mainly because of the costs. Now I am very happy to be able to enjoy the cropfactor, it's almost essential to have for shooting birds (photos I mean :) ).
I was wondering how is the high ISO performance compared to the 7D. I quite a few indoor sports on your flickr account, some with the 7D and some with 5D2, always @ 1600 or above ISO.
How much of a difference do you see in reality on your monitor?

Thanks Ben :) the 5D2 costs a fortune but i only bought this one because my local reseller just got a used one in store with the 24-105L lens and he gave me a nice price so i grabbed it directly.

I will start off by saying that there is no magic to fullframe which so many photographers desire and try to get their hands on. As i shoot with both and all types of shots from concerts to sports and everything inbetween in various lightingconditions i get just as good results with my 7D as i get with the 5D2, however.. the fullframe sensor generates less noise at higher ISO values, i'd say about half as much noise. But in the end it doesn't really matter that much as you have such great noisereductiontools and plugins now that can get the job done and preserve lots of detail.

Most of my work is still done with the 7D as it has a superior AF system and it's speed is miles better than what the 5D2 is capable of and the output quality is about the same. I'm only using the 5D2 in certain situations as a backup camera with a wideangle zoomlens on various events i shoot.

The 5D2 can produce acceptable ISO 3200 shots but if you push it much further up to 6400 and beyond then things start to look nasty. I can post some examples if you want to see..

Some visible difference is there when i view them on my monitor, but that's pixelpeeping (something you should never do) and normally noise you never notice if you print your images. Printing is a whole different thing from viewing your images on a display at a couple of decimeters distance.

One shot from today.. nothing really fancy, just a bumblebee feeding off a flower. This one is shot with the 5D Mark II and Canon EF 100mm 2,8 macro.
I'm adding a 100% crop with complete EXIF info also for you guys to look at. I have added a little bit of noiserduction and some sharpness to it, but not much.
