Hello,

Installed maxwell 2.5.1 on new pc with windows 7, but cannot install the license.
I pasted the license info, as it asked... but nothing happens after clicking ok.

any idea how to make it work?

copied the license data from old license.dat file.

Afaik, for Maxwell 2.x, you get license data as text in an email from NL (you might try searching your inbox for the string "MAXWELL2 LICENSE DATA STARTS HERE"); that is what you should paste in the box. When you do that, I think that Maxwell should write a license.txt file with this data in your /documents/Maxwell directory. It should also work if you create a license.txt file with this data in your MAXWELL2_ROOT directory.

this might be a stupid question but when you say you pasted the info from the "old license.dat file" you are talking about a v2.x license right? If you're trying to copy a 1.x license in there it won't work.

pff... simple when you know it:
Text from version 1 lisence.txt file works, the file is located in >my documents>maxwell !!
I did not know that, and one cannot find it with basic file search on windows.
