Does anyone here have knowledge of the large format scanner market?

For our 3d work, we are in need of a large format (13x19" or higher) scanner that does top-notch grayscale scanning. Color too, but grayscale is key for this work. We have to capture images of a lot of highly detailed, flat materials.

Just starting to do some research here but was wondering if anyone had off-hand knowledge.

highest quality of scanning i know of is drum scanning for film up to 4x5

depending on your location, i would contact local film development companies and ask them.

a lot of these places are becoming obsolete as industry standards have shifted towards digital and the places surviving have re-established their footing in the market through digital imaging while maintaining high quality industry standards..... along with reliability.

i'd call around.... because you sure as hell don't want to deal with your local microcenter employee starving for commission.
