Is it just me or the 5 finalists at the stills category have almost nothing to do with arch viz?
none of the images looks as a "real" project or true arch viz.
it looks sort of conceptual CG work, very good but I don't think it should be there.
just my opinion.

A cool image.
I'm surprised to see artistic work getting honored here, also with the other nominations.

I don't want to be the judges with over 830 entries for archviz still images. I considered to transmit a real-time project but didn't feel comfortable with it. Then I've seen the nominees and thought I should have submit one. Looking at the overall projects which got sumbitted it seems the contest was flooded with Lumion3D projects.

It's a well executed illustration -- but without knowing the concept that it is explaining it may be difficult to judge it's merit.

Personally I liked the Stonehenge video because it was very well done and perfectly clear without explanation -- I'm always a bit turned off with concepts so high-minded they have to be explained... that's true in any artistic platform.

That said the guy you mentioned (Bertrand Benoit) looked pretty plain to me, very well done yes, but not terribly exciting... of course I will be the first to admit I know absolutely nothing about Arch Viz, other than I absolutely despise some the seemingly popular "modern architecture" that seems so prevalent (looks like some of Frank Lloyd Wright's stuff without the "warmth").

Ones that caught my eye were (for any reason):

It looks like the side of a skyscraper was hit by a pirate ship, then the building started bleeding wagons and tentacles.
