I am very happy that I was able to get the first HR render out of MW just after buying it. But for it to work I had to adopt a somewhat "strange" approach, so I am posting here.

I purchased MW a week ago and was very eager to get some out of it. After some basic tests and play arounds, I started to arrange an indoor scene. But I didn't want to wait several days for this to complete to see the first result. (BTW: I am still on the very beginning of the learning curve, so everything takes a bit longer). This scene contained a "Ceiling Fan" and so I separated it from the rest but only the walls with window and door openings to give it a try. After messing around with some emitters I didn't get the result I was after and decided to simplify the scene even more, only keeping the Ceiling Fan as well as the floor and ceiling planes. Even having more room now for camera positions the lighting didn't come out as expected. Now already becoming somewhat desperate, a render had to come out, that was the goal I recalled that all simple tests I did before with Physical Sky ISO 100 and SS 1/500 did always come out nice, and in this case I wasn't able to get a descent light (remember limited skills at the moment).

The solution I found was to delete the floor plane and rotate the ceiling fan with the ceiling about 180 degrees, so that it had become a "floor fan" now. Turning the sun off and as expected the lightning came out far better that in my previous attempts. Then I put a simple Incandescent 100W light to produce a slight shadow for the ceiling fan and done.

This is still a WIP, today I managed to get around textures and triangle groups. One step further.
