I wish some animation function will be introduced in studio, like :
- fstop value
- camera mouvement
- object modifiers

Is it possible? I like Studio.

By the way, I have a production shot made in studio. I need to make a 360° animation of my subject.
How can i achieve that? Importing an animated camera?

Only through a capable plug-in.

I believe that fstop and camera movement can be done but object handling, other than simple transformations (move, copy, scale, rotate etc) will change the identity of studio and could cause more bad than good.

I believe in nextlimit... as I have seen, animation is good integrated in realflow, isn't it?
If it's in their plan it will be well done, I think.

So, just to make it clear:
you're using Modo as a 3D app, where you got your animated camera, but you want to do all the animating/rendering stuff withing Studio?
Is that right?

Not possible in Studio. You must make your animations in Modo, then export a MXS for every frame.

I need to rotate my object 360°
I believed I could import a camera with animation information, but i think it's impossible.
Can I makes a .mxs for each position (360°/4) > 90 files with a rotation of 4° > an 3,6 sec animation.
Can I batch the 90 files?

If you have any intention at all of ever animating anything in a scene, do not use studio.

The correct way would be to set everything up in your 3d app, and use either the batch render function to run the frames, or export a sequence of MXS files and render those using Maxwell.exe or Maxwell Network.

If you've already got your scene set up in Studio, and its too laborious to re-create in your 3d app, your only option is to move the object or camera manually and create each MXS frame. This may be scriptable but I am not sure.

Hey David,
I had EXACTLY the same problem a couple of years ago -
I did all the the modeling etc. in Cinema4D and finished the scene (setup & rendering) in Studio.
And so I came up with this method; it's a bit 'boring' since you have to do some things manually, but hey it worked...
- in my 3D app (Cinema4D) I made an animation with animated camera, objects etc. (also applied "Maxwell camera" tag to the cam)
- in Maxwell plug-in I hit 'Export as animation' (or something like that) and got X .MXS files, where X=number of frames in my animation
- I went to to Studio and opened the first .MXS ans set everything up for the render
- now here's the worst part - the difference between the first and the second frame is the camera position and it's settings, so the point is to import the camera from .MXS number X into the first .MXS (where you have all the things set up for the render), make it default camera, and save the scene as .MXS number X
And you do it frame by frame...
-in the end you just batch render all the frames

I'm currently in a situation where some animation tools in Studio would be perfect. I have an exterior scene built in SolidWorks which has to be animated with a flythrough... This is doable in SolidWorks but the problem is, I need to use Studio to complete the scene. Adding the OBJ trees and cars has to be done in Studio for me, as well as applying decent UV mapping options for the textures I'll be using for materials.

So I'm a bit stuck at the minute but we're working around it.
