Rustberg - That's pretty funny dude. 8)

Can I add one of my own from last week?

Hi 3d guy,

We have been through the animation – it looks good. There are a few changes we would like time permitting – please can you come back and let me know what’s possible from this list:

Colour inside dome. I know it’s hard to show the colour changing but is it possible to make this a bit more obvious? It looks green overall and it does light slightly blue and pink. However, if you were not looking for it you would miss it.
When you fly into the dome, is it possible to do a 360 view – if not maybe spend a little longer in the inside?
I know we can’t have real people in the animation but can we have one or two more ghosts in the dome – a family so a couple of kids (10 yrs approx) . Is it possible to make these look as if they are engaging with the sampling pod ie playing?
We’ll send the final choice of music over shortly

Let me know what’s possible – we need it no later than midday

btw deadline was missed......

Dear Client,

While looking for the perfect entourage to place in your rendering through a Google image search, I clicked on the picture of:

Seconds later, my C: became heavily infected with all kinds of lovely applications, attempted to open viagra()com every 3 seconds and eventually exploded into a million pieces.

I wanted to write to you to let you know that I was not able to finish your rendering because of:

Instead, I spent the day buying a new hard drive to install windows on. It was much more fun than working on your rendering thanks to:

no firewall or antivirus was installed I guess. otherwise this would be strange... you should update it now and then...
To see if it works this time I'd suggest to click on that picture again after reinstalling windows and the firewall+antivirus. :D

well, the strangest part was that google chrome didn't even pick up on. usually it will block access to a site like that when it detects such a thing...

and no thanks, i think i'll steer clear of angry platinum grill rapper dude for a while....

p.s. now running CLAMWIN http://www.clamwin.com/ as antivirus.... it seems to be non intrusive and lightweight, which is why i had gotten fed up with what was installed a while back and ended up removing it....

Don't know which antivirus/firewall you had installed before, but security always goes FIRST; there're no compromises since the risks are too high. Also, go for a well-known, trusted security software - it shouldn't be automatically expensive; many of them offer free solutions. For example, Microsoft is offering their free antivirus:
http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/

Just don't go for something "unknown & free" - it will only create an illusion of your PC being protected; Just read some test results a couple of months ago - there was a huge bunch of antiviruses in the very buttom of the list that picked up like 4% of viruses or so.

And don't forget - Rule #1: Never, Ever, EVER connect your work PC (rendering machine) to the internet

ROLF

Been there, done that: "Hey James, whenever I open a file in Maxwell Studio it never shows up. You said Maxwell could open .stl files, but it can't."

"Right-click in the viewport and select 'Centre Scene.'"

"Oh."

i sometimes have to import DWGs from clients and while looking from the top all seems fine but when looking at it in perspective view half a gazillion lines are not flat on the plane but shoot up in the sky 4 miles high - u true bird's nest.
