I'm a huge fan of dropbox and have been using it for some time now and just ran across something fairly similar with a couple big advantages. It's called Ge.tt (that's their website too, btw).

I just started playing with it about an hour ago but so far it looks amazing. Here's how it seems to work. You upload a file via a very simple interface, and it spits out a download link. So far, that's pretty much like any other file share. Here are the advantages though.

1. no size limit (what?! even Dropbox has the 3 gig limit or however much space you have)

2. this is the really cool one and the advantage over dropbox. you can download the file immediately after you upload it. That's pretty awesome. I've uploaded largish files to DB before and then have to wait 30 minutes or more until it's uploaded before sharing the download link.

The magic seems to be that someone can begin downloading it WHILE you're uploading it. That goes on under the hood though so you can just share the file and forget about it.

Where dropbox still wins out, is being able to sync up multiple computers and that sort of thing, but for pure file sharing, I think I'll be switching to Ge.tt which will in turn give me more free space to use Dropbox for syncing.

Totally. I love dropbox for sharing pics but you have to leave that file in there forever or it'll disappear from the forum it's posted on. And if you leave it in there, you have that much less space in your dropbox.
