Hi Walter,

First of all, no worries about your English, that's just fine and I think we all know what you mean
What platform are you using or are you working straight in Maxwell Studio? From all what I've heard you
also have to tick the HIDE FROM GLOBAL ILLUMINATION option which is normally found somewhere in the
object properties as well. I would also untick the CAST and RECEIVE SHADOWS option. In 3DsMax it's
actually a different tab. Hope that helps for now.

thanks a lot Jost for your reply.. so ... I use Rhino and the rhinomaxwell plugin... so.. one question.. if I tick the HIDE FROM GI option, the emitter work fine or he does not work at all? For the second point, in Rhino I don't know where to find the CAST and RECEIVE SHADOW option... maybe this option it's only a 3DMAX option?
thanks

Hi again,

Unfortunately, I don't use Rhino, with or without Maxwell. I'm more familiar with the Maya and 3DsMax section. However, I'd
always recommend to do a small resolution or region render test to test the effect. You can also post this question over
in the Rhino plug-in section of this forum to get more specific help on this topic.

As for 3DsMax, disabling the 'cast and receive' shadows, 'visible to reflection and refraction' as well as ticking the 'hidden to
global illumination' options does the job just fine. All you'll see is the emitted light and I guess that's what you're after?

No problem at all, I'm glad I could help. Good luck with it, and I'm sure it will be fine!

I am having the same problem, and the link to the think tutorials is not the problem. To put it simply I can SEE the square emitter in the reflection on the floor and I don't want it there! I STILL want it to effect the scene BUT I don't want to see its reflection on the ground. Is it possible to have my cake and eat it too?

Thanks

Yes,

hook HIDDEN FROM REFLECTION AND REFRACTION in EMITER object properities.

if this doesn't work. You are doing something wrong, show us pictures.
