does anyone have any experience bringing pro e files into either max or mx studio?

i know nothing about pro e, its file extensions, export capabilities, or mesh issues....

can anyone familiar with this subject shed some light? thanks!

You won't be able to open its native formats but it surely export Nurbs-Based .step or .iges which should "somehow" open in 3dsMax.
Without a dedicated Translator however you will likely some errors. Alternatively you could check try out importing meshes. While
I am not sure if .obj is available it is very likely that at least triangulated .stl-files can be written.

It's been many years that I sat last time in front of Max - I can definitely recall that it could write .stl's - not sure if it can also open them.
If not -then you could convert the format in the free program Meshlab.
In any case - the way the mesh looks will not meet any Standard you are probably used from Mesh-Modeling.

rusteberg - .prt & .asm files can be run through Polytrans & exported to .3ds, it's the quickest process I know getting ProE into something else.....I have Ptrans here, so if you're in a fix, pm me & I'll see what I can do to help.

the floor looks far too complicated to clean it every day! (und ich weiß wovon ich rede, wenn ich meine Mutter auf Arbeit besuche)

otherwise it looks nice, but still too clean and somehow to white for my taste. somehow it lacks some yellow/ orange colour in the light - at least for my taste.

that is strange. that reply was supposed to be in the kindergarden thread... there I answered a second time because the answer somehow disappeared.

Concerning MoI - check the website www.moi3d.com they have a free timeless 'no save' demo or one that you can use fully for 30 days. That might help a lot for evaluation if the tool is helping with Pro E files.
