Please post here anything else (not relating to Maxwell technical matters)

When I am at work I can't login to the Maxwell forum. I get:

You exceeded the maximum allowed number of login attempts. In addition to your username and password you now also have to enter the confirm code from the image you see below.

Any idea why? Something to do with how they handle the internet, I assume.

That's interesting - had the same problem a couple of times recently, but I'm always on the same PC.
You should be able to log in without a problem after you provide the requested code (that's what I did).
But the interesting thing is - the 'request code' thing should appear after like 3-5 you fail to enter the right password, so I wonder :?

I did a simple experiment:
-I've logged out from the forums
-Tried to log in, but with an invalid password - after 3 failed attempts, the 'confirmation code' thing (captcha) appeared.
-Afterwards, I cleared browser cache etc. and tried to log in to forums via proxy (using different IP address - just in case
the forum servers would block the old IP address after it failed to log 3 times in a row) with a REAL password -
and guess what - I get a 'You exceeded the maximum allowed number of login attempts' and a 'confirmation code' thing.
After I enter my login\password once again, along with the confirmation code, I was able to log in successfully.

So, there are 2 possibilities:
- someone's fooling around on the forums, trying to guess random user's password
- there's some sort of script running, doing pretty much same thing.
:?

Would be nice to know, if anyone else had this thing with the 'confirmation code' recently.

I'm never asked for a code at home.

I'm always asked for a code at work, and supplying the code never helps.

I haven't cleared any cache at work. I don't think I ever explicitly log out at home.

Well that was what I first thought so to be safe I changed my password to a more complex one that I can't even remember. I let the browser remember it instead.
Can NL have a look if someone is running scripts? (number of failed attempts lately?). I'm guessing it's either a forums bug or someone is trying to hack.

strange.

I saw the email that said someone posted here.

I tried to read the forum, was challenged for a capcha at login, but this time the capcha worked.

I had a very similar problem last week as well. After changing my password once and getting it to work on my PC, it still wouldn't let me login with my phone. I ended up changing the password one more time before I got it working there as well.

I also get this message "'You exceeded the maximum allowed number of login attempts" and captcha requst for all time I login to the forum (i'm always logged so it does'nt happen often).
Is someone trying bruteforce to enter Maxwell forum? Hope logs will contradict me!
