How about some pics of stupid birds for a change.. ok great! then here's two pics of one and the same bird. I think it's a default seagull or something, not really sure. :)
Btw, i found incense sticks for smoke shooting but it's difficult to shoot them at home as they smell like shit and my whole apartment stinks for hours afterwards.
Besides my setup can't handle them yet, i need to rebuild something new for them later on.

4Hero: Thanks but i actually like your photo of the little cute robot toy more than mine of the bird. :) the upper half of the robot looks almost realistic when you see it, the lower half reveals it's a plastic toy. What camera did you use ?

tokiop: Thanks :) you should post something too!

I shot these from higher elevation, a observation point. Actually it's a old military fortification located on a hill in the city. Anyways, doesn't matter. The shots themselves were kinda boring so i ran them through Photoshop to fake them into tilt-shift shots, the typical minuature effect. This is what my pics turned out to look like.

Thanks guys hehe.. there are many tutorials and ways to do this effect in post rusteberg, i'm pretty sure you are already familiar with them if you ever done post dof in Photoshop for example, it's the same thing. Basically use a gradient to blur parts of the image with.

Here are a few tutorials you can have a look at..

There is also a plugin which helps you achieve the same effect if you happen to be lazy, which you are not. :)

I fired off some testshots on smoke from these scented sticks they use in temples and such places, they generate a nice silkysmooth type of smoke which catches light well.
Here are some of all the 300 shots i took in one night of it. :)

Thanks Nico, it's not bad to be just smoke (and my second attempt at taking pics of it) :)
But this is quite easy to shoot, you don't need any special skills to get nice smokin' shots like this. Just a camera, smoking sticks, black or dark background of some sort (i used a towel)and a lightsource from behind or a external flash. All set in a dark room. That's all! then fire away! :)

Two more from my collection.. more to come tomorrow and the coming days.

Yes, that is what I meant ... but I am pretty sure I can't get close to such stunning photos with my phone cam :-)
Do you mind sharing your camera setup ? (one more time) Please ?

PS. Is Gothenburg in the arctic circle ? Do you get six month dark over there ?

Hehe Thomas, it might be a bit more difficult to get some shots with a cellphonecamera than a DSLR. :)

Sure, my setup today looks like this..
- Canon EOS 7D body
- Sigma 17-70/2,8-4,5 DC
- Canon EF 70-200/4,0L USM
- Canon EF 100mm 2,8 Macro USM
- Canon EF 1,4x II extender
- Manfrotto 055XPROB tripod
- Manfrotto 498RC2 ballhead for the tripod above
- Canon Speedlite 580EX II external flashgun
- Canon BG-E7 batterygrip
- YongNuo TC-80N3 timer/remotetrigger

That's all i got so far, i still have no camerabag, tripodbag and better more expensive glass. Maybe some day if i ever get back on my feet again...

Anytime Thomas, i try to use them all equally but it also depends on the situation and the subject. Just to be an idiot i even screw on the wrong lens when shooting something like flowers or sports just to see what type of results i will get compared to if i used the lens that would do the job better. :)
The best performer of the 3 is probably the 70-200 tele, it's such a sharp piece of glass it's scary and the one i have is still the lowbudget cheap version, the bigger more expensive lenses in this same range and series are apparently much sharper but they come at a gigantic pricetag well beyond my wallet.

Thanks Hervé, it has taken me ages to save up to all this without a steady income and only a handful of 3d jobs per year but it was worth starving for. :)

Now i only hope i get to keep it, the situation today looks bad. :(
